Position Summary

The Fraud Risk Analyst supports the Risk Management Division in various aspects of fraud prevention and loss mitigation, adhering to the policies and procedures of Shell Federal Credit Union.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adheres to all service commitments and organizational values of Shell Federal Credit Union.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the financial sector and complies with relevant regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Participates in required training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Executes job responsibilities in alignment with Shell FCU's policies and performance standards.
  • Completes assigned projects efficiently and professionally.
  • Demonstrates strong time management abilities and consistently meets deadlines.
  • Monitors fraud detection software to identify high-risk transactions.
  • Conducts thorough investigations into suspicious activities, including scams and various forms of fraud.
  • Documents investigations meticulously in the case management system.
  • Refers complex cases to senior team members for further analysis.
  • Files necessary reports in compliance with regulations.
  • Communicates findings effectively with relevant stakeholders.
  • Analyzes transaction patterns to identify emerging fraud trends.
  • Utilizes external resources to stay informed about national and global fraud trends.
  • Collaborates with internal auditors to assist in investigations.
  • Contributes to the development of automated fraud detection strategies.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues regarding fraud prevention.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as required.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Experience and Education
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a financial institution or investigative role.
  • High school diploma or GED required; some college education preferred.
Skills and Attributes
  • Exceptional investigative and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Positive, member-service oriented attitude.
  • High level of trust and confidentiality.
  • Ability to influence and motivate others.
  • In-depth knowledge of credit union products and services.
  • Ability to work in an open office environment.
Physical Requirements

While performing job duties, employees may need to bend, stand, and occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
