Assistant School Director Job Description

Atlantis Academy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant School Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instructional Leadership: Provide vision and leadership to support student achievement and effective operations by supervising staff, developing and implementing performance management plans, identifying professional learning needs, and participating in professional learning opportunities.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise site staff to assure quality instruction is delivered and Atlantis policies and procedures are implemented in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Student Support: Provide guidance, consultation, and assistance to teachers in the development of classroom schedules, maintenance of student data systems, and facilitation of student transition plans to assure appropriate schedules and services based on each student's individual goals.
  • Operational Management: Oversee site operations and functions as the liaison between the site and the school districts' designated site contacts by establishing and maintaining positive, interactive, working relationships.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field of study.
  • Experience: Prior experience and highly knowledgeable in the development, assessment, and management of curriculum, content areas, and instruction.
  • Special Education: Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with autism-related disabilities, behavioral disorders, and/or emotional disturbance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or higher: In education, special education, educational leadership, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Current FL educator certification with endorsement in special education, student services, or a closely related subject.
