About the Role

This entry-level position is an exciting opportunity to apply laws and ordinances to ensure properties are maintained safely. As a Code Compliance Officer I, you will be responsible for evaluating alleged violations of state and local codes, preparing reports, and working closely with the public to develop compliance solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate alleged violations of state and local codes related to land use and building permits.
  • Prepare reports identifying investigation requests.
  • Evaluate approved projects for compliance with conditions of approval.
  • Work closely with the public to develop a clearly understandable and workable compliance solution.
  • Review commercial cannabis applications utilizing knowledge of local and state codes and regulations.
  • Conduct follow-up inspections concerning recommendations for compliance.
  • Research and analyze building and land use permit records, land use regulatory documents, and health and safety ordinances and recommends changes.
  • Ensure zoning laws are followed and coordinate with owners to maintain their properties.
