About the Role:

Nectar Markets is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for protecting and securing our cannabis facility. This includes monitoring access in and out of the dispensary, helping dispensary staff control access to the facility in accordance with State Rules and Regulations, and actively monitoring physical security around the site.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor access in and out of the dispensary and assist dispensary staff in controlling access to the facility.
  • Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points to ensure security and compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct routine patrols and inspections of dispensaries and grounds.
  • Monitor video surveillance system when requested.
  • Secure staff, visitors, and buildings in the event of an emergency.
  • Prevent losses and damage by informing violators of policy and procedure.
  • Detect and assess security risks and create solutions to best protect employees and customers.
  • Maintain daily written and/or electronic tracking sheets, noting all activity on premises.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • BSIS Guard Card (Required).
  • Experience in private or public security, law enforcement, or other government security agencies.
  • Knowledge of computer & office equipment and programs.
  • Ability to focus, attention to detail, and work effectively as a team member.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and calmly, and remain calm in periods of high stress or unusual activity.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, absolute reliability, and honesty.
  • Resident with a current valid State-issued ID or Driver's License.
  • Extended time sitting, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Complete a State/Federal background check and fingerprinting.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for a distance of 100 feet.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • This role starts out at $20 an hour.
