Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain advanced software models and operational data to identify shifts in the functioning of plant equipment and systems.
  • Conduct daily assessments of critical site components that utilize installed models to gather data through sophisticated analytics software.
  • Evaluate and prioritize alarms for potential equipment-related concerns, collaborating with station personnel to provide optimization recommendations.
  • Engage with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to analyze equipment anomalies.
  • Monitor equipment performance and forecast component health, notifying SMEs and site personnel of trends that may negatively impact reliability and performance.
  • Communicate equipment anomalies to plant operations and engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with power plant staff to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues identified by performance software models.
  • Identify and categorize risks to the plant, offering recommendations for mitigation and ensuring follow-up on resolutions.
  • Conduct technical assessments to enhance operational performance and reliability, aligning with operational targets.
  • Provide analysis in areas such as KPI performance against established goals.
  • Update and evaluate existing analytic and performance software models for adequacy.
  • Quantify avoided costs to demonstrate the value of team activities while adhering to electric power industry regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
  • A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge in:
    • Developing and implementing performance monitoring programs.
    • ASME Performance Test Codes and IEC Wind Standards, with experience in Advanced Pattern Recognition and diagnostic tools.
    • Experience with wind turbine engineering or operations from manufacturers such as GE, Siemens, or Vestas.
    • Familiarity with power plant controls and control logic.
    • Experience with OSI PI data historian and EtaPRO is advantageous.
    • Understanding of vibration analysis for rotating equipment.
    • Knowledge of rotating components like gearboxes, wind turbines, and generators.
    • Familiarity with condition-based maintenance programs and technology applications.
    • Experience with advanced analytics and predictive diagnosis software.
    • Condition monitoring and diagnostic technologies.
  • Strong English communication and technical report writing skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in various software applications (e.g., MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database usage is required.
