Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist I or II to join our team at the University of California San Francisco. The successful candidate will provide high-quality respiratory care services to patients of all age groups, working collaboratively with medical and nursing personnel to optimize patient care planning.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care services, including airway maintenance and manual and mechanical ventilatory support.
  • Administer therapeutic gases, inhaled aerosol medications, and humidity therapy as needed.
  • Obtain, review, and interpret data to assess the need for and response to respiratory care interventions.
  • Perform arterial blood gas analysis and various cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures.
  • Provide patient and family instruction in respiratory therapy self-administration and proper use of equipment and supplies.
Requirements
  • Valid and current California Respiratory Care Board Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) Certificate from NBRC.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (HCP) certification.
  • For Respiratory Therapist II: Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of California, BLS, PALs, NRP, RRT, and ACLS certifications.
