Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist II to join our team at Rady Children's Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with cardiopulmonary disorders, taking into account their age, development level, and size.
  • Select and administer the most appropriate care, considering the patient's individual needs and circumstances.
  • Develop and maintain a caring relationship with patients and their families, promoting health and healing.
  • Identify and seek resources as needed to ensure the best possible care for patients.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in respiratory care, preferably in a pediatric setting.
  • BLS for Health Providers (AHA) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider (AHA) certification.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner certification.
  • In lieu of an Associate's Degree, a diploma from a NBRC-certified Respiratory Therapist Program will be accepted for employees hired before October 1, 2013.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or CRT certification, if hired prior to October 1, 2013.
  • NRP Advanced Provider (AAP) certification, with the exception of employees in the Pulmonary Function Lab.
  • Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) certification, required within 6 months of hire for new hires post July 1, 2021, in the Pulmonary Function Lab.
  • PALS (AHA) and NRP Advanced Provider (AAP) certifications, required within 3 months of hire for RT II new to Pediatrics.
  • ACLS (AHA) certification, required for those in the RT Charge Role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in respiratory care, preferably in a pediatric setting.
  • Pulmonary Function Lab Specialist: 1+ year of experience in the Pulmonary Function Lab.
  • Bilingual.
  • Advanced credential.

We offer a competitive salary range of $42.00 to $57.27, with placement determined by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
