Job Summary

The Mosaic Company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst/Senior Accountant to join our team in a key role focused on inventory management and analysis. As a Senior Financial Analyst/Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing monthly inventory accounting and reporting for the North America Potash Business Unit and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) activities for the North America Phosphates Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Prepare and analyze monthly inventory accounting and reporting for the North America Potash Business Unit, including analysis and journal entry preparation of all of Mosaic's North America Potash inventory activity, including costing and associated cost of goods sold, with emphasis on both balance sheet and income statement activity and analysis.
  • MRO Inventory Management: Prepare and analyze monthly MRO inventory accounting and reporting for North America, including analysis and journal entry preparation of all of Mosaic's North America MRO inventory activity, including costing and associated cost of goods sold, with emphasis on both balance sheet and income statement activity and analysis.
  • SOX Controls: Lead the coordination of various Inventory SOX controls for the North America Potash Business Unit and act as the primary contact with both internal and external auditors on North America Potash and MRO Inventory audit requests and analysis.
  • Valuation and Analysis: Partner with the EBS Inventory and Plant Finance COE teams to ensure proper valuation of North America Potash inventory and provide timely analysis to key business partners.
  • Special Projects: Create, manage, and drive special projects for process improvements and changes in technical accounting requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required, major in Accounting, Finance or Business with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience: 5+ years of accounting or finance experience.
  • Certifications: CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP, General Ledger accounting, auditing/Sarbanes Oxley standards, sales accounting, and inventory accounting. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel is required), Microsoft Access knowledge preferred. ERP system experience/knowledge required. SAP knowledge is preferred.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Highly motivated and self-directed. Ability to effectively work with employees at all levels within the organization and external customers and suppliers. Ability to adapt to a continually changing business and work environment and manage multiple priorities.
