Job Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst is a critical role within Citigroup Inc. responsible for the generation, tracking, and submission of financial reports in coordination with the Finance Team. This position requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure compliance with local regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the analysis and submission of reports to various stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, based on requirements such as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), regulatory, and statutory reporting.
  • Assist with closing the books and sub-ledgers, including passing necessary adjustment entries and consolidating financials at the end of each accounting period.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of financial results and identify the cause of variances, such as accounting issues and economic events.
  • Produce key metrics for senior management highlighting critical issues and remediation status, and maintain and enhance related operational and analytical procedures.
  • Assist in the development of process efficiencies and improvement efforts, as well as data quality improvement projects.
  • Interpret policies, guidelines, and processes, and resolve complex problems and transactions.
  • Assist with the management of one or more processes, reports, procedures, or products.
  • Exercise independence of judgment and autonomy, and act as a subject matter expert (SME) to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of related experience in the financial services industry and project management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on MS Excel.
  • Working knowledge of related industry practices and standards.
  • Ability to work with multiple functions and teams.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
Job Requirements

This job requires a high level of analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial reporting and regulatory requirements, as well as experience working with financial data and systems.
