This is a Contract to HIRE position for 1 year with Amtec Inc., a military defense company.

Pay: $68.00 to $72.90 hourly

As part of our Systems Engineering team, you'll collaborate with a diverse group of driven professionals who design the products and systems that support enhanced military capabilities, protect national security, and keep critical information and infrastructure secure.

We are currently seeking experienced Systems Engineers with the ability to support our Combat Vehicle and Naval Guns Product Lines. We value our workforce and their well-being. This position is currently to work on-site on a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off out of either our Minneapolis, MN or Sterling Heights, MI offices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support requirements development and management.
  • Develop subsystem and component performance specifications by analyzing and deriving necessary requirements.
  • Develop and maintain requirements verification and compliance, and supporting artifacts.
  • Coordinate and facilitate architecture development of assigned system, subsystems, and components.
  • Support development and maintenance of interface requirements and interface design information for assigned sub-system, systems and components.
  • Document concept design decisions and support generating System/Subsystem Design Descriptions (SSDDs) and capability assessments.
  • Coordinate and facilitate formal decisions and trade studies to drive design and document results.
  • Support the execution and monitoring of cost, schedule, and risk.
  • Coordinate Systems Engineering activities to influence the design.
  • Support vehicle-level Systems Engineering activities and program milestone reviews.
Requirements:
  • Experience with DOORS requirements management tool.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and 6+ year's relevant experience.
  • Systems engineering experience performing requirements analysis, derivation and allocation, and translating requirements to viable concepts design solutions within applicable constraints.
  • Experience developing architecture concepts and evaluating alternatives.
  • Ability to balance system design considering system concept of operations (CONOPS), performance, constraints, and logistics concerns.
  • Ability to plan, conduct, and document complex trade studies.
  • Ability to generate System/Subsystem Design Descriptions (SSDDs) and capability assessments per the program statement of work (SOW).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
