Job Summary

Celestica is seeking a highly skilled Principal, Thermal Design Engineer to join our Hardware Product Solutions team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the thermal design and development of our products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to advance thermal development by understanding leading edge cooling technologies.
  • Support and influence the integration of thermal strategy across technical disciplines.
  • Design robust thermal solutions to meet product specifications and cooperate with the Software team to implement fan speed control strategy.
  • Conduct thermal simulation analysis from board to system level to verify thermal feasibility and risk.
  • Document thermal test plans and perform thermal, air flow, and impedance measurements.
  • Interface with a multi-disciplinary group to define system requirements and design products.
  • Work with the function team to identify root causes of system failures.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in thermal design, simulation, and test validation for electronic products.
  • Strong user of Flotherm as a CFD analysis tool.
  • Expertise in various heat sinks, heat pipes, vapor chambers, and liquid cooling technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical design tools, such as Pro/E.
  • Broad knowledge of industry standards, including SBB, NEBS, GR-63, and ASHRAE TC9.9.

Education

  • Master's degree in Engineering, preferably in Thermodynamic Engineering.
