About the Role

Fehr & Peers is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Transportation Engineer/Planner to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting transportation analysis, writing reports, and participating in meetings to prepare presentations and public outreach materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct transportation analysis and write reports to identify solutions to complex transportation problems.
  • Participate in meetings to prepare presentations and public outreach materials to communicate project findings and recommendations.
  • Handle project management responsibilities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Participate in professional organizations to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
  • Conduct site visits and collect field data to inform transportation planning and engineering decisions.
Professional Development
  • Participate in on-the-job training and mentoring to develop skills and knowledge in transportation planning and engineering.
  • Work on a variety of projects with most staff in the office to gain experience and build relationships.
  • Use several technical software programs to analyze and model transportation systems.
Qualifications
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and proactive approach to communication and getting work done.
  • Genuine curiosity for the work and familiarity with the challenges of day-to-day travel within your community.
  • Completed or in-process bachelor's or master's degree in transportation, civil or electrical engineering, urban and regional planning, or a related major.
  • Coursework in transportation, engineering, urban and regional planning, geography, math, statistics, economics, or other related courses.
  • Experience or exposure related to field work, traffic operations analysis, signal design, transportation planning, and relevant software.
  • Previous work experience in an office setting related to a topic area listed above.
  • Experience with technical writing and public speaking through school and/or work experience.
  • Interpersonal skills, a desire to collaborate, and a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to balance priorities between multiple tasks within a defined timeline.
