- Providing courteous and respectful service to patients, visitors, staff, and physicians
- Coordinating patient registration, scheduling, and billing information
- Resolving routine patient problems and complaints in a timely manner
- Scheduling surgical and non-surgical procedures, tests, and appointments
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Performing clerical duties, including data entry and correspondence
Key Responsibilities:
- Registration: Ensure accurate and timely patient registration, including collecting insurance information and signatures
- Customer Service & Problem Resolution: Resolve routine patient problems and complaints in a constructive and timely manner
- Scheduling: Schedule procedures, tests, and appointments, ensuring accuracy and timely updates
- Medical Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including scanning and storage
- Clerical: Perform data entry, correspondence, and other administrative tasks
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Secretarial-related courses or experience
- Medical terminology knowledge
- Ability to type 40-80 wpm
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- 6 months of related experience in a healthcare setting
