Job Summary:

At St. Elizabeth Healthcare, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to collect blood and other specimens from patients, while maintaining a safe and respectful environment.

Key Responsibilities:

⁠ ⁠Greet patients using the AIDET (PHLEBOT) model, providing clear instructions and directions to ensure a positive patient experience.

⁠ ⁠Evaluate physician orders for type of specimens, time of draw, and specific specimen handling requirements.

⁠ ⁠Use work lists to organize draws and ensure timely completion of testing.

⁠ ⁠Communicate with physician offices to obtain diagnosis coding information and resolve any issues that may arise.

⁠ ⁠Collaborate with pharmacy and other patient care staff to ensure proper and timely collection of medication levels and tolerance tests.

Requirements:

⁠ ⁠High School graduate or equivalent.

⁠ ⁠Valid driver's license and ability to meet medical center insurance requirements for applicable locations.

⁠ ⁠Computer literacy and ability to navigate laboratory and hospital computer systems.

⁠ ⁠Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
