Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Office Assistant to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the operational needs of our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, ensuring cleanliness and availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Interview patients to obtain medical information and perform measurement and screening procedures.
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Obtain patient vital statistics, including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and head circumference.
  • Record findings in patient medical records and inform clinicians of any notable observations.
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens, including blood, tissue, and other samples.
  • Assist clinicians during examinations, procedures, and treatments, as required.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform related clerical duties, including patient registration, scheduling, and data entry.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Successful completion of a six (6) month to one (1) year course in Medical Assisting at an accredited school OR 1-3 years of medical assistant experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $22-$25/hour.
