These state-of-the-art plants will leverage Ford's century-long expertise in automobile manufacturing alongside SK On's extensive experience in electric vehicle battery production, positioning us as a leader in the global battery manufacturing landscape.

We are looking for a highly qualified and seasoned Manager of Industry and Government Relations. In this capacity, you will be tasked with formulating and executing strategies to effectively engage with industry peers and governmental stakeholders, track legislative and regulatory changes, and advocate for the interests of BlueOval SK. This role demands a strong commitment to fostering alliances within the electric vehicle battery sector, a comprehensive understanding of governmental processes in Kentucky and Tennessee, exceptional communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively engage in coalition building and partnership development with various organizations and industry groups to enhance understanding of best practices, trends, and amplify our collective voice.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry leaders, government officials, policymakers, and other influential figures to advocate for the interests of BlueOval SK.
  • Act as a liaison and manage BlueOval SK's collaborations with government relations contractors, including the development and execution of governmental affairs strategies to promote our objectives.
  • Monitor industry, regulatory, and legislative activities at local, state, federal, and international levels, providing timely updates.
  • Represent BlueOval SK at meetings, hearings, and other relevant events to ensure our perspectives are communicated and our concerns are addressed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to assess the impact of proposed regulations, legislation, and industry trends on BlueOval SK, and develop suitable responses and action plans.
  • Conduct research and analysis on current events, initiatives, trends, government policies, and actions that may influence BlueOval SK.
  • Prepare and effectively communicate complex ideas in presentations, reports, and other materials to convey BlueOval SK's positions and priorities to government officials, industry partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about developments and trends in industry affairs and government to continuously enhance our strategies and approaches, including the implementation of new practices and initiatives.
  • Utilize strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to navigate complex governmental and industry processes and challenges.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines related to industry and government affairs initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Demonstrated success in advocating for an organization's interests in industry and/or government settings with measurable outcomes.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies affecting the company and industry, including tax structures and incentive policies related to development.
  • Strong networking skills and the ability to connect with a diverse range of stakeholders, with a knack for overcoming obstacles to find common ground.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional, and dynamic team environment.
  • Proficient in utilizing relevant software and tools for presentations, communications, research, and analysis.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for meetings, conferences, and other relevant events.
