Job Title: MRI Faculty

We are seeking a highly qualified MRI Faculty member to join our team at Smith Chason College. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for coordinating clinical education with didactic education, ensuring the effectiveness of clinical affiliate/clinical education centers, and promoting a positive and interactive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage students as full partners in the learning process, removing barriers to progression in the MRI program, and supporting their educational goals.
  • Use teaching methodologies that incorporate MRI concepts, promoting a positive and interactive learning environment.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in the healthcare industry related to MRI and assist the program director in creating and modifying courses to stay current with new regulations.
  • Actively participate in academic advising and collaborate with academic success coaches to support student resources.
  • Coordinate clinical education with didactic education as assigned by the program director and ensure the effectiveness of clinical affiliate/clinical education centers.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with representatives of clinical sites and determine clinical placements and student schedules each quarter.
  • Travel to clinical externship sites to meet with instructors and students, reviewing learning progress and competencies.
  • Assist in the preparation and administration of proficiency exams and maintain department equipment, supplies, and resources.
  • Maintain accurate records, submit timely reports, and keep the program director informed of departmental matters.
  • Actively participate in professional organizations, maintain current industry licensure and credentials, and complete annual staff development requirements.
Requirements:
  • Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Must have at least two years of full-time experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field. Full-time is defined as 35 hours per week.
  • Current industry certification(s) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
  • Must be willing to travel to clinical externship sites to meet with clinical instructors and students to review learning progress and competencies, at least twice per quarter per student.
  • May be required to teach at any college location. Some in-state or out-of-state travel related to discipline-specific training is required.
  • Must have completed coursework in instructional methodologies, evaluation, and assessment, with proficiency in curriculum development.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in a Health Science field.
  • Post-secondary level teaching experience.
  • Strong knowledge of MRI Instruments.

Must be able to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time. Ability to independently move objects up to 25 lbs. Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, other office machinery, and perform repetitive motions. Must have sufficient hearing and speaking ability to communicate in person or on the phone/computer with others.

Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 Annual Salary
