We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a tenured faculty position at the associate to full professor level, also serving as Director of SDSU's MRI Center. The successful candidate will have a strong research record, technical skills relevant to MRI applications, and previous research leadership experience transferable to directing an MRI facility.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic vision in maintaining, directing, and growing a state-of-the-art imaging program for basic and translational research
  • Facilitate services provided to the SDSU imaging community
  • Maintain research excellence and develop an independent, externally-funded program of research
  • Teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses
  • Mentor students
Requirements
  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in neuroscience, psychology, MR/medical physics, biomedical imaging, or related fields
  • Strong research record and technical skills relevant to MRI applications
  • Previous research leadership experience transferable to directing an MRI facility
  • Commitment to teaching and working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and members of underrepresented groups
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in human brain imaging
  • Experience with directing an imaging center
  • Strong managerial skills
  • Ability to promote collaborative research links
  • Commitment to the teacher-scholar model
  • Research/teaching interests integrating issues of culture and human diversity
