Position Overview: The Event Preparation Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional service by organizing and preparing venues for various events. This position adheres to established protocols and safety measures, while actively engaging in situations to surpass client expectations.

Work Schedule: Shifts may vary, including daytime, evening, and weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehend and execute set-up protocols to maintain efficiency and uniformity under time constraints.
  • Interpret work orders and directives to ascertain assignments and necessary materials or equipment.
  • Maintain organized and stocked equipment storage areas to safeguard inventory.
  • Transport event equipment to and from storage, utilizing hand tools, carts, or other means, and arrange spaces according to specifications.
  • Adjust work patterns based on visitor traffic in event areas, employing suitable strategies to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Adhere to all event policies and procedures to uphold safety standards.
  • Proactively address and manage situations as they arise, ensuring a positive event experience for all attendees.
  • Collaborate with the Event Setup Supervisor to coordinate work schedules based on event requirements.
  • Embody a team-oriented spirit, representing Facility Services and working closely with the events team.
  • Exhibit professionalism and respect in all interactions with colleagues, visitors, vendors, and event participants.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in customer service, retail, or hospitality.
  • Ability to frequently lift weights.
  • Occasional unassisted lifting of up to 125 lbs.
  • Frequent pushing/pulling of up to 300 lbs. on a wheeled cart unassisted.
  • Occasional pushing/pulling of up to 1100 lbs. on a wheeled cart.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Background in event or banquet setup.
  • Cultural awareness and experience engaging with diverse communities.
  • Openness and respect for all backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in languages other than English is valued (e.g., Hmong, Somali, Spanish).

Compensation: $16.43/hour (based on qualifications)
