Position Overview: The Event Preparation Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless execution of events by adhering to established protocols and safety measures. This position is dedicated to providing exceptional service while preparing event spaces to meet and exceed client expectations.

Work Schedule: Available shifts may vary, including daytime, evening, and weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and implement set-up procedures to guarantee efficiency and consistency, especially under tight timelines.
  • Follow detailed work orders to ascertain material and equipment requirements.
  • Maintain organized and stocked equipment storage areas to safeguard inventory.
  • Transport event equipment from storage to event locations, ensuring proper setup according to instructions.
  • Adjust work strategies based on visitor traffic in event spaces to ensure a positive experience for all.
  • Adhere to all event policies and safety protocols to maintain a secure environment.
  • Proactively address and resolve issues as they arise to enhance the event experience.
  • Collaborate with the Event Setup Supervisor to align work schedules with event demands.
  • Exhibit professionalism and respect in all interactions with colleagues, visitors, vendors, and event participants.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in customer service, retail, or hospitality.
  • Ability to frequently lift weights up to specified limits.
  • Occasional unassisted lifting of up to 125 lbs.
  • Frequent pushing/pulling of up to 300 lbs. using wheeled carts.
  • Occasional pushing/pulling of up to 1100 lbs. with wheeled carts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with event and banquet setup processes.
  • Cultural awareness and experience engaging with diverse communities.
  • Openness and respect for individuals from all backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in languages other than English is valued (e.g., Hmong, Somali, Spanish).

Compensation: Starting at $16.43/hour, commensurate with qualifications.
