About this Position:

As a key member of the Honda Development and Manufacturing of America team, the successful candidate will serve as a Project Lead for external and internal strategic communication activities, supplier relationship surveys, and center-wide projects. This role requires a strong understanding of business development principles and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and communicate strategic storylines for the Purchasing and Supply Chain Center (PSCC) and Honda executive management.
  • Collaborate across centers, business units, divisions, and departments to create presentation content and complete center-level projects.
  • Lead major purchasing and supply chain strategic projects and initiatives, guiding leadership and the organization in establishing a strategic direction and objectives.
  • Identify the company's strengths, weaknesses, and business opportunities, executing defined activities for strengthening the company's competence.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain contact with public and private organizations for the purpose of exchanging information and ideas, including best practices sharing.
  • Project lead for Plant Moran for the annual Supplier Relationship Survey, providing input to Plante Moran on the survey and distributing results with Honda.
  • Develop content for the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) annual meeting and Honda message.
  • Lead and create processes to identify external business conditions, analyze and monitor industry activity, and maintain knowledge of Honda business direction and new model launches.
  • Devise methods and procedures to increase engagement and collaboration, as well as active participation in cross-industry initiatives.
  • Project lead for associate communication within the center, creating, developing, and providing messages for leadership communication.
  • Manage and oversee the annual budget and budget preparation, developing strategy and establishing department/division direction.
  • Mentor associates within the group on problem-solving, procedures, and fostering development.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience (depending on education)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Procurement Management, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience
  • Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of project management, strong problem-solving, and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of management
