Position Summary


The Department of Mathematics & Physics at Iona University is inviting applications for the role of Mathematics Educator. This is a full-time faculty position that aims to enhance the academic experience of students through effective teaching methods.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in statistics and demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence.

The department provides an undergraduate major and minor in Mathematics, a minor in Physics, and supports various mathematics education programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Additionally, the department offers courses that support other academic disciplines and the university's core curriculum.

We are dedicated to fostering a student-centered learning atmosphere and actively engaging students in mathematics beyond traditional classroom settings. Faculty members employ a variety of teaching strategies, including technology integration, and maintain small class sizes, ensuring personalized attention with a maximum of 25 students in core classes.

Key Responsibilities:

Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the teaching and ongoing development of the mathematics curriculum, with a teaching load of 12 hours per semester, alongside additional service responsibilities.

Compensation:

Salary will be competitive and based on qualifications.
