Key Responsibilities
  • Ordering and Inventory Management
    • Replenish products through proper buying procedures to maintain optimal inventory levels.
    • Order seafood products and maintain appropriate back stock levels to meet customer demand.
    • Monitor and act upon open PO reports for both purchases and credits in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Merchandising and Display
    • Control spoilage and shrinkage, achieving turn goals and participating in inventory management.
    • Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required to ensure product quality.
  • Customer Service and Sales
    • Ensure orders for product are timely and accurate to monitor inventory turns and meet customer expectations.
    • Oversee customer special order procedure to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Financial Management
    • Analyze and control product transfers, waste, and spoilage to maintain financial profitability.
    • Meet and exceed purchasing and sales targets to drive business growth.
  • Store Operations
    • Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work.
    • Work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings to ensure seamless store operations.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Provide excellent customer service, addressing needs in a timely and effective manner.
    • Model suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales potential.
  • Store Maintenance
    • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment.
    • Maintain equipment in accordance with Whole Foods Market cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
    • Ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.
    • Immediately report safety hazards and violations.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • 12+ months retail experience, preferably in a seafood or grocery environment.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Comprehensive knowledge of seafood products and merchandising expectations.
    • Strong basic math skills and ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
    • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
    • Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment.
Working Conditions

The Seafood Order Coordinator will work in a fast-paced retail environment with frequent exposure to fda-approved cleaning chemicals and temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, is essential.
