Position Overview

Abacus Technology Corporation is in search of an OSP/ISP Technician responsible for the installation, removal, and relocation of standard telecommunications equipment to support Base Telecommunications Systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Splice, terminate, and conduct testing of fiber optic cables to fulfill project specifications.
  • Execute cabling, power distribution, and grounding for various equipment and hardware while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Carry out cabling, ironwork, wiring, and splicing tasks, along with cable and lead verification.
  • Install, remove, or relocate various telecommunications apparatus.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in the installation of telecommunications equipment and cabling infrastructure. Certification as a CFOT (Certified Fiber Optic Technician) is mandatory. Proficient in the installation and testing of CAT 3/5/5e/6, as well as ISP/OSP fiber optic cabling, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) data management. Familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and established safety and quality standards is essential. Capability to perform cabling, ironwork, wiring, and splicing tasks, along with the ability to utilize basic methods and procedures for job specifications and schematics; adept at testing and activating various communication devices. Must be a U.S. citizen.
