Maintenance Technician Position

Reports To: Property Manager/Maintenance Supervisor/Regional Property Manager

Department: Maintenance

Job Summary: As a Maintenance Technician with Providence Real Estate, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficient operation and upkeep of our property buildings and grounds. Your supportive role will ensure the property remains in excellent condition, providing a comfortable living environment for our residents.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily repair and upkeep of the property.
  • Responsible for maintaining the grounds daily, assisting the groundskeeper if applicable.
  • Responsible for the preparation of vacant units for occupancy.
  • Responsible for the care, maintenance, and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the property and/or management company.
  • Responsible for the supply and upkeep of personal tools required by PPM and its affiliated companies for Maintenance Technician.
  • Responsible for reporting unusual and extraordinary circumstances regarding the property or residents.
  • Responsible for maintaining the required property uniform and ensuring a professional appearance and attitude always.
  • Responsible for cleaning work area, tools, and equipment.
  • Responsible for courteous, efficient response always, including but not limited to an emergency on call.
  • Be aware and operate within OSHA (Occupation Safety and Health Act) standards and company safety policies always.
  • Responsible for thorough knowledge of management company policies and property community policies.
  • Responsible for seeking educational opportunities and self-improvement for personal growth and development.
  • Maintain current HVAC Certification.
  • Assist in maintaining the general upkeep of the Property Pool and its equipment.
  • Must be available to work on an on-call basis.
  • Responsible for securing the maintenance shop(s) at the close of every work day.
  • All other duties as assigned that the Property Manager and/or Service Manager feels falls into the Maintenance Technician Job Description.

Education and/or Experience: One to Three years related experience in residential maintenance.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Reason Availability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: HVAC Certification is required, CPO Certification is helpful.
