Crime Scene Identification Specialist Trainee

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Crime Scene Identification Specialist Trainee. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to learn the trade of fingerprint examination.
Job SummaryIn this role, you will assist in conducting fingerprint comparisons, operate and conduct latent searches using the Virginia Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS), and perform various tasks related to fingerprint analysis.
Responsibilities- Conducts fingerprint comparisons under close supervision.
- Operates and conducts latent searches via AFIS.
- Lociates, isolates, collects, analyzes, compares, and identifies fingerprints.
- Ensures the preservation of evidence integrity.
- Operates and maintains photographic and other equipment.
- Prepares and maintains fingerprint files, records, and reports.
- Attends case or staff meetings to exchange information and attends technical and professional classes to improve skills.
You will also be responsible for performing routine office tasks such as typing, filing, faxing, telephoning, and copying.
RequirementsTo be considered for this position, you must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment. You should also have basic computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
