Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our Medical Oncology team at US Oncology, Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our oncology services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with our medical team.
  • Initiate and document appropriate interventions, evaluate patient response, and prescribe therapies as indicated.
  • Perform procedures after receiving appropriate training and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assess patient and family needs, provide education, and promote wellness.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based research into clinical practice and stay up-to-date with reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Complete patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely manner.
  • Provide case management for patients and their families, and promote staff education.
  • Participate in rounding at affiliated hospitals and be available for weekend or after-hour calls.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program or equivalent experience as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or equivalent certification for Nurse Practitioners.
  • Current state license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the practicing state.
  • Basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
