Role Overview
As a vital member of our team, you will operate with a degree of autonomy to conduct both theoretical and empirical research utilizing public and proprietary data across various sectors of mortgage finance. This includes areas such as mortgage products, borrower behavior, investment strategies, and economic modeling. Your contributions will be essential in maintaining a robust quality assurance framework to ensure excellence in our model validation processes.

Key Responsibilities
In the role of Senior Associate - Quality Assurance in Quantitative Modeling, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Evaluate adherence to Model Governance by conducting thorough reviews against established internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate quality assurance assessments and collaborate with model risk governance teams and stakeholders.
  • Utilize your understanding of the business context to interpret analytical results, monitor performance, and assess risks, employing mathematical and statistical techniques as necessary. Provide innovative and practical solutions that enhance business performance.
  • Define and maintain comprehensive metrics and key performance indicators for quality assurance programs.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively, both verbally and in written formats, including reports and presentations.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence within the organization.

Qualifications
Essential Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in model governance, validation, or development.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and draw meaningful conclusions from data.
  • Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve common objectives.
  • Background in quantitative analytics within the financial services sector, particularly in credit, interest rate, or fixed income valuation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Experience in presenting information in an engaging and comprehensible manner.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with Governance and Compliance practices, including policy interpretation and compliance evaluation.
  • Experience in Risk Assessment and Management, including control design and impact assessments.
  • Knowledge of experimental design and applied statistical methods.
  • Proficiency in reporting tools such as Tableau, Excel, or PowerBI.
  • Programming skills in languages such as SAS, SQL, R, or Python.
  • Experience in managing project resources and timelines to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Strong influencing skills to engage with leadership and stakeholders effectively.
