Senior Financial Analyst

This role is situated within the Small Business Administration, specifically in the Office of Financial Operations Management. The individual in this position will function as a Senior Accountant, offering expert guidance and strategic advice to management at all levels regarding intricate financial matters.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive financial guidance and insights to agency leadership and staff on accounting policies and financial management practices.
- Conduct thorough analyses of accounting and financial records related to agency initiatives.
- Advise on the efficient management of all financial operations and accounting programs, including credit systems and administrative accounting frameworks.
Conditions of Employment
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must be a current career or conditional competitive service employee of the SBA.
- Successful completion of a background investigation is mandatory.
- Potential for a one-year probationary period may apply.
GS-13: Candidates must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in federal service, which includes:
- Executing federal accounting and reporting for loan and guarantee programs.
- Implementing federal accounting standards, such as the United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL) and OMB A-136, to ensure compliance in financial reporting.
Mandatory Educational Background:
Applicants must submit transcripts (official or unofficial). If selected, official transcripts will be required.
Degree: A bachelor's degree or higher in accounting from an accredited institution, or a related field with a minimum of 24 semester hours in accounting.
Alternatively, a combination of education and experience totaling at least four years in accounting or related fields, including substantial coursework in accounting.
