The Day Porter position at ABM Industries is a vital part of our team, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of assigned areas. As a key member of our facilities services team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our clients' spaces are safe, healthy, and visually appealing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and maintain building floors, walls, and glass surfaces, as well as remove rubbish and recyclables.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, colleagues, and management.
  • Compliance and Safety: Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Be flexible and willing to complete all tasks assigned, including responding to business management needs in a timely and effective manner.
Essential Functions
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing: Clean and sanitize building floors, surfaces, and equipment, following procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
  • Supply Management: Requisition and maintain supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Security and Safety: Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use.
  • Event Support: Assist with setting up, arranging, and removing decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding for events such as banquets and meetings.
Requirements
  • Age and Education: Must be 18 years of age or older, with no high school diploma, GED, or college degree required.
  • Experience: No experience required, with on-the-job training provided.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Customer service experience and 1 year of similar work experience.
