Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Customer Service Representative to join our Member Assistance Center team at SEIU 503. As a key member of our contact center, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to union members, addressing their inquiries, and resolving their issues in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answering Calls and Responding to Inquiries: Respond to incoming calls, emails, and other communication methods from union members, providing accurate and helpful information to resolve their issues.
  • Providing Member Support: Assist members with various tasks, such as updating contact information, completing membership card signing, and enrolling for healthcare benefits.
  • Documenting Calls and Interactions: Accurately document all calls and interactions in our computer systems, ensuring that member information is up-to-date and secure.
  • Collaborating with Team Members: Work closely with other team members to ensure seamless communication and resolution of member issues.
  • Participating in Union Activities: Participate in union activities, such as civic engagement, voter registration, and grassroots political advocacy, to support the union's mission and goals.
Requirements
  • Fluency in English and Additional Language: Fluency in English and at least one additional language is required, with a focus on languages such as Somali, Arabic, Spanish, Cantonese, Russian, Vietnamese, and Korean.
  • Customer Service Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a call center environment, with a focus on human services, referral, information programs, hospitality industry, and social justice organizations.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer software, including Salesforce, SharePoint, and other SEIU 503 computer systems.
Working Environment

This is a full-time position, working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, with occasional weekend work required. The work environment is a cubicle with a computer and phone, or a work-from-home environment if appropriate.
