Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be instrumental in collaborating with partners and professionals across the Grant Thornton International (GTI) network. Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing expert consultation to partners and professionals regarding the application of independence standards to various scenarios.
  • Conducting thorough Relationship Checking activities using the Relationship Checking System (RCS) to ensure compliance.
  • Monitoring independence for significant private equity firms, ensuring adherence to SEC independence requirements.
  • Facilitating training sessions for the independence team on AICPA standards related to non-audit services.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of independence policies and quality control measures.
  • Creating and delivering technical content for professional training programs.
  • Maintaining independence-related resources and publications to support firm-wide compliance.
  • Liaising with GTI representatives on independence matters and potential conflicts of interest.
  • Participating in ongoing professional development and training initiatives.
  • Performing additional job-related duties as necessary.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the accounting profession, with a strong preference for experience in a national office or independence office.
  • A valid CPA certification.
  • Exceptional analytical and technical skills, with a solid understanding of international accounting practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A keen attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
