About the Role
  • This role plays a critical part in ensuring that materials are available when needed to meet production schedules while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
  • Material Planning:
    • Develop and maintain material requirements plans based on production schedules, forecasts, and inventory levels.
    • Coordinate with purchasing teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
    • Analyze and forecast material needs to optimize inventory levels and minimize excess stock.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock is available for production.
    • Implement inventory control procedures and systems to track material usage and turnover rates.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with engineering, production, purchasing, customer management, and quality assurance teams to align material planning with production requirements.
    • Communicate with customer management teams and value stream leaders about suppliers, order status, lead times, and any issues that may impact material availability.
    • Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide updates on material planning, inventory status, and summarize risks and opportunities.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements in material planning, scheduling, and procurement to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Utilize data analysis and reporting tools to monitor performance metrics and inform decision-making.
