Key Responsibilities- Conduct inspections and investigations of food manufacturing facilities to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
- Collect and transport samples of food products, environmental swabs, and water samples as necessary.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to colleagues and management on health and food sanitation, rules and regulations, and their enforcement.
- Maintain a working knowledge of current policies, laws, regulations, and guidance documents.
- Attend training sessions, meetings, and conferences to stay up-to-date on industry developments.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in agronomy, animal science, biology, chemistry, or a related area from an accredited college or university.
- Certification as a Registered Sanitarian or Environmental Health Specialist.
- One to three years of experience conducting inspections and investigations for compliance, depending on the level of the position.
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Certification as a registered sanitarian or registered environmental health specialist by the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA).
- Two years of professional experience conducting inspections and investigations for compliance with established state and federal health and food and/or milk sanitation laws, rules, and regulations.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
