Key Responsibilities:


Oversee or guide multifaceted planning initiatives in partnership with scientists, engineers, and other specialists on larger, intricate projects.

Exhibit a thorough understanding of project management principles and practices, ensuring the development of environmental compliance and planning documents adheres to relevant guidelines and requirements, while completing tasks within budget and timelines.

Act as a planning expert, preparing and managing comprehensive environmental assessments and coordinating with key team members, including senior personnel, subconsultants, and clients.

Produce technical outputs and written materials that are clear, concise, and well-structured.

Consistently demonstrate strong writing abilities, attentive listening skills, and actively participate in or lead client meetings, effectively presenting complex technical information in a clear and concise manner during community workshops and public hearings.

Lead the creation of proposals for mid-sized projects and assist with larger project proposals, providing technical insights, contributing to proposal writing, identifying opportunities, and engaging with proposal/interview teams.

These efforts will include responsibility for developing scopes of work and budgets.
Direct and lead marketing and business development initiatives, including the formulation of capture strategies.

Provide mentorship and guidance for junior staff, reviewing their work for accuracy and clarity, and offering constructive feedback and career development support while collaborating on projects.

Excel in a dynamic, challenging environment, managing multiple responsibilities and deadlines, whether working independently or as part of a team.


Required Skills & Experience:


A seasoned Environmental Project Manager with a minimum of 10 years of experience in leading or directing the creation of high-quality environmental assessments, including CEQA and NEPA documentation, and client deliverables for both public and private sector clients.

You possess comprehensive knowledge of policy planning, related regulatory permitting, and pertinent regulatory and environmental regulations and processes in California.

You are an effective team player and communicator who proactively identifies and constructively addresses broad project or team challenges, providing mentorship and coaching to junior staff to foster collaboration.

10 years of experience in environmental assessments
Strong understanding of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
Strong understanding of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
Experience with Caltrans and FHWA, LA Metro, and FTA is advantageous.
Possess excellent technical writing and editing skills.
Proficiency in project management and marketing experience.
Possess strong communication skills.
Comfortable managing multiple project assignments concurrently.
Able to interact with clients, maintain project budgets and schedules.
Essential ability to provide technical expertise to design staff.
Desire and capability to work in a collaborative environment.
Ability to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines.
Able to work in various weather conditions.
Willingness to travel.
Must hold a valid driver's license, maintain a good driving record, and pass a driving record background check.
