About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all facets of pre-construction, bid and award, construction, and close-out phases of assigned projects.

  • Manage and coordinate project budgets and schedules to meet qualitative standards, monitoring budget and schedule on a monthly basis.
  • Coordinate with public agencies and district staff to ensure compliance with off-site work requirements.
  • Review and submit comments on pre-construction documents to designers as necessary.
  • Plan, organize, and prepare reports to upper management on project status and progress.
  • Manage daily activities of contractors, review construction schedules and submittals, and coordinate responses to contractor inquiries.
  • Negotiate contractor change order proposals to achieve fair and reasonable prices.
  • Administer provisions of professional service agreements between architects and the district.
  • Coordinate district delivery of related fixtures, furniture, and equipment.
  • Monitor and manage project close-out, including certification with the Division of State Architects and project financial close-out.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in construction and/or project management of commercial and/or public/educational facility construction.
  • Three years of experience with full responsibility for coordinating complex projects with construction values in excess of $10M.
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record required.
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would be beneficial:

  • Design build experience in public/educational facility construction.
  • Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Experience with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS).
  • Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes.
  • Safety and OSHA Safety Regulations (OSHA 30 minimum).
Compensation and Benefits

Harris & Associates offers a competitive salary range of $95K-115K, dependent on experience and expertise, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
