This role supports the Bakery Department Manager by collaborating with all Bakery team members to ensure a consistently enjoyable shopping experience, adherence to company policies, achievement of departmental goals, and fulfillment of associates' needs.

The position contributes to store sales and profitability by effectively overseeing all Bakery department operations, including:
labor management, expense control, accurate pricing, inventory levels, merchandising, and customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists the Bakery Department Manager in daily operations and leads the Bakery team in their absence.

Promotes Festival culture, customer service excellence, and performance standards among Bakery associates.

Trains and mentors new Bakery team members.

Conducts performance evaluations for Bakery associates.

Documents policy violations and implements corrective actions as necessary.

Provides guidance and answers inquiries from Bakery department associates.

Ensures compliance with departmental standards.

Monitors sales floor and stockroom conditions, addressing areas for improvement.

Maintains optimal inventory levels and ensures accurate pricing on products.

Collaborates with Store Director, Bakery Director, other Department Managers, and Bakery Associates to uphold standards and exceed customer expectations.

Delivers exceptional service to all customers.

Assists customers in locating products.

Takes special orders for cakes and other items.

Packages and prices items from the service case.

Handles phone inquiries with proper etiquette.

Addresses customer concerns and resolves issues effectively.

Supports all department associates in their daily tasks while exemplifying leadership.

Contributes to the cleanliness and organization of the department.

Ensures accurate timekeeping for the department and communicates any discrepancies to HR.

Maintains food safety logs and ensures compliance with quality standards.

Regular attendance is required, with adequate notice for absences.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent experience.

Ability to lead and motivate a team.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Proficient in technology and computer usage.

Comprehensive knowledge of the retail food industry and perishable department operations.

Ability to interact tactfully and effectively with customers and staff.

Understanding of safety protocols and company policies.

Must possess a WI Certified Food Manager License (Festival will provide certification if needed).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT


The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The associate must be able to stand for extended periods, walk throughout the store, and frequently bend, stoop, and kneel.

Requires manual dexterity and coordination to operate equipment.

This position requires the ability to lift stock occasionally, up to 60 pounds.

Working conditions may involve exposure to extreme temperatures.

WORK SCHEDULE
This position is full-time and hourly, with a schedule that includes mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
