Job Description

As a Customer Service Coordinator at Hapag-Lloyd AG, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our maritime operations. Your primary responsibility will be to create and manage bookings, accurately assigning rates and ensuring timely documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Booking Management: Create and manage bookings, ensuring accurate rate assignment and timely documentation.
  • Route Planning: Identify the most efficient routes for container movement from origin to destination.
  • Equipment Coordination: Work with the Equipment Department to determine equipment availability and ensure seamless logistics.
  • Documentation Management: Ensure all required documentation is received in a timely manner and updates bookings as necessary.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inbound queries and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the GSC Global Service Centers to prepare and release import and export documents as required.
  • Quality Control: Verify customer credit standing and ensure accurate billing through the accounting department.
  • Reporting: Prepare and manage vessel voyage, customs manifest, and miscellaneous reports as required.
  • Dispute Resolution: Capture and resolve import or export disputes communicated by customers or GSC Global Service Centers.
  • Cargo Release: Facilitate the release of cargo, including clearance for in-bound moves, customs clearance, and filing customs entry for empty containers.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma and 2 years' experience in the Maritime Industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including active listening and report writing.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and math skills, with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and other software to meet work demands.
