Claims Operations Supervisor

The Claims Management Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing a dedicated team of claims professionals, ensuring that all standards for quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction are consistently achieved while complying with corporate policies and regulations. This position is crucial for the operational success of CorVel Enterprise Comp, Inc. and necessitates regular attendance to support the objectives of the claims division.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees daily activities of claims personnel
- Assists the Claims Manager in recruiting, interviewing, and training new employees on established procedures and job functions
- Ensures adherence to Workers' Compensation regulations and necessary reporting obligations
- Promotes optimal team performance through ongoing training, coaching, and regular performance assessments, recommending merit-based actions as appropriate
- Provides expert guidance to claims staff on complex issues related to compensability, investigations, and litigation
- Acts as a liaison to facilitate resolutions for clients and employees concerning specific claims and procedural inquiries
- Maintains compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies
- Demonstrates consistent attendance and adherence to safety protocols as outlined in the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)
- Engages in additional projects and responsibilities as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Capability to mentor team members in claims practices
- Involvement in Customer Claim Reviews and Presentations
- Strong analytical and interpretive skills
- Proven leadership and motivational capabilities
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Willingness to travel for meetings as necessary
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations and communicate effectively
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel
- Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively
- Comprehensive understanding of claims administration and cost containment in Workers' Compensation
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Proven public speaking abilities
- At least 5 years of experience in claims handling
- Knowledge of Workers' Compensation is essential
- Must maintain current certification in Workers' Compensation throughout employment
- Self-Insured Certificate is preferred
- State Certification as an experienced Examiner is advantageous
COMPENSATION:
CorVel employs a market-based approach to compensation, with salary ranges varying based on location and other factors such as skills, experience, and market conditions. Salary adjustments may occur based on the interview assessment process.
Salary Range: $67,086 – $111,634
