Job Overview

The Claims Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing a dedicated team of claims professionals, ensuring that all standards for quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction are consistently achieved while complying with organizational policies and regulations. This position is crucial for the operational success of CorVel Enterprise Comp, Inc. and necessitates regular attendance to support the objectives of the claims division.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervises claims personnel in their daily functions
  • Assists the Claims Manager with recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of new employees, ensuring they are well-versed in operational procedures
  • Monitors compliance with Workers' Compensation regulations and mandatory reporting standards
  • Enhances team performance through ongoing training, coaching, and regular performance assessments, recommending merit-based actions with managerial consent
  • Provides expert guidance to claims staff on intricate issues related to compensability, investigations, litigation, and client-specific instructions
  • Acts as a liaison to facilitate resolutions for clients and employees regarding claim-related inquiries and procedural matters
  • Ensures adherence to HIPAA regulations and internal policies
  • Maintains consistent attendance and compliance with safety protocols as outlined in the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)
  • Follows all organizational policies and best practices
  • Undertakes additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
  • Capability to mentor team members in claims practices
  • Engagement in Customer Claim Reviews and Presentations
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills
  • Proven leadership and motivational capabilities
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Willingness to travel for meetings as necessary
  • Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations and communicate effectively through various channels
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Office including Excel
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Comprehensive knowledge of claims administration, case management, and cost containment relevant to Workers' Compensation

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven public speaking abilities
  • At least 5 years of experience in claims handling
  • In-depth knowledge of Workers' Compensation is essential
  • Must maintain current certification in Workers' Compensation throughout employment
  • Self-Insured Certificate is preferred
  • State Certification as an experienced Examiner is desirable

COMPENSATION:

CorVel utilizes a market-driven approach to compensation, with salary ranges varying based on geographic location, skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions. Salary adjustments may occur based on the assessment during the interview process.

Compensation Range: $67,086 – $111,634
