Job Summary

nVent is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operations Management Intern to support various facets of day-to-day plant operations. This 10-week full-time internship will provide valuable development experiences within a global manufacturing organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily production of various value streams and participate in corrective actions
  • Conduct quality inspections utilizing quality tools
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations
  • Execute and coordinate employee training to ensure procedures are followed and meet all quality requirements
  • Coordinate the timely and accurate movement of material into, within, and out of assigned work areas as needed

Internship Details

  • Interns and Co-ops are paid hourly for time worked
  • Relocation and housing support is available for eligible candidates
  • Interns and Co-ops receive paid time off, paid sick time, paid volunteer time, and paid holidays
  • Interns and Co-ops who demonstrate outstanding performance may be offered a subsequent internship/co-op or full-time offer of employment with nVent

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Operations, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Ability to complete a 10-week full-time summer internship in a global manufacturing organization
  • Candidates applying for nVent's Co-op and Internship Program must have current work authorization and be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
  • Willingness to learn and to work collaboratively with all levels within the organization
  • Energy to listen, desire to learn, and ability to be resilient and adaptable through change
  • Strong work ethic and personal responsibility to see things through to completion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
