About the Role:

Tergar International is seeking an experienced Community Content and Social Media Marketing Specialist to join our marketing and communication team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating engaging content that speaks to the heart of our community, building relationships with community members, and developing and implementing content marketing and social media strategies to increase our online presence and build effective brand awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and curate engaging content for various platforms, including blogs, newsletters, and social media channels, collaborating with marketing, community, and design teams.
  • Manage and grow our social media presence across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and others.
  • Develop, implement, and manage our social media strategy and growth strategies for the online and in-person communities.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment within the community.
  • Build and foster relationships with community members and stakeholders through active engagement, responding to comments, and facilitating discussions.
  • Monitor and analyze social media metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies, and provide insights for improvement.
  • Gather insights and data from the community to inform future content and marketing strategies, ensuring alignment with audience needs.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to create and execute social media campaigns that align with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of the monthly content calendar, which includes monthly organizational objectives and initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging platforms, and best practices in social media and community engagement.
  • Ensure progress on all platforms by using analytical tools such as Google Analytics and others.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience building and growing engaged online communities, ideally in a non-profit, social impact, or volunteer-driven context.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling, on-brand content across a variety of formats (articles, videos, social media, etc.).
  • Data-driven mindset, with the ability to analyze community engagement metrics and user behavior to inform content strategy. Familiarity with analytics tools like Google Analytics and online community platforms.
  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Google+, and other social media best practices.
  • Experience with online community platforms management and content creation.
  • Hands-on experience with content management systems, email marketing platforms, and social media publishing tools. Strong technical aptitude.
  • Project management chops, able to juggle multiple competing priorities and deadlines while keeping the content engine running smoothly.
  • Passion for our mission and a deep understanding of our target audiences and their needs. Empathy and emotional intelligence to connect with community members.
  • Collaborative team player who can work closely with community managers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders.
  • Creativity and adaptability to experiment with new content formats and strategies to keep the community engaged.
  • Knowledge of best practices in community building, volunteer management, and virtual/hybrid events.
  • Basic knowledge of Canva and video editing skills.
  • Bonus if the candidate has experience with Buddhist topics or mindfulness, AI-powered content generation, personalization, or analytics tools.
  • BS degree in Marketing or relevant field.
  • Fluency in English.
