Job Title: Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team. As an Operating Room Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety in the operating room.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and prepare patients for surgery, ensuring they understand the procedure and addressing any concerns.
  • Review medical histories and perform physical assessments.
  • Ensure that all necessary preoperative tests and documentation are completed.
  • Assist the surgical team during procedures, including maintaining sterile techniques and providing instruments and supplies as needed.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any changes in their condition.
  • Ensure the operating room is properly set up and maintained, including sterilization of instruments.
  • Educate patients and their families about postoperative care and recovery plans.
  • Document patient care and any complications that may arise.
  • Work closely with the surgical team, including surgeons and anesthesiologists, to provide coordinated care.
  • Participate in surgical team meetings to discuss patient outcomes and process improvements.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to ensure patient safety and quality of care.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in the state of practice.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, with OR experience preferred.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
