Truck Procurement Manager

Join Ocean Network Express as a Truck Procurement Manager and play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing our inland network. As a key member of our team, you will lead a group of analysts, ensuring efficient and effective procurement processes. Your primary objective will be to achieve and exceed operational targets within your area of expertise, regionally and departmentally.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide oversight and direction to team members, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and procedures.

- Inland logistics, intermodal operations knowledge.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, including formulas.
- Prior transportation equipment experience required.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Resolve operational issues: Provide timely support to Inland Operations teams to address challenges and maintain smooth operations.
- Strategic planning: Anticipate and plan for unique scenarios to ensure the efficient functioning of the inland network.
- Negotiate rates: Negotiate favorable truck rates with carriers to optimize costs.
- Review and analyze rates: Conduct regular reviews and analyses of truck rates to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Approve rates: Authorize truck rate changes and approvals.
- RFP process: Develop and manage the RFP process for rolling out new truck procurement initiatives.
- KPI development and monitoring: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators.
- Cost and volume metrics: Develop reports to measure and analyze cost and volume metrics related to truck procurement.
- Database maintenance: Maintain truck rate databases in the ONE system.
- Route management: Ensure the accuracy and alignment of inland routes.
- Intermodal route analysis: Input and analyze intermodal routes to identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Vendor relationships: Build and maintain strong working relationships with truck vendors.
- Sales & Commercial support: Provide cost and service information to Commercial Teams.
- 3rd party platform contracts: Manage contracts for 3rd party platforms used for intermodal truck drayage.
- 3+ yrs management/supervisory experience and 5+ function/industry-related.
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
