Position Overview

Workday, Inc. is on the lookout for a Senior Manager of Global Sourcing focused on Meetings and Events. This pivotal role encompasses the formulation and execution of comprehensive global strategies for meetings and events, ensuring alignment with business needs while maximizing value through strategic alliances. Key responsibilities include the development of category strategies, conducting thorough market assessments, negotiating supplier agreements, and overseeing vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience in sourcing and vendor management, particularly within the meetings and events sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement sourcing strategies tailored for meetings and events
  • Engage with business partners and suppliers to enhance processes and negotiate agreements
  • Collect and assess business requirements for various events
  • Oversee the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for event management and meeting services
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors
  • Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers while driving strategic initiatives
  • Leverage data and systems to streamline processes and identify sourcing opportunities
  • Stay informed on industry developments and technological advancements
  • Lead special projects as required

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of experience in sourcing for meetings and events
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred
  • Desirable Skills
  • Proven track record in managing RFx processes and supplier relationships
  • Exceptional analytical and negotiation capabilities
  • Proficiency in contract management and market analysis
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
