Job Title: Test Cell Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Cell Technician to join our team at Northern Lights Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all activities with the Test Cell Lead and Quality Assurance Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generator set hookup, testing, and disconnection, as well as cleaning and maintenance after test.
  • Recognizing nonconformities and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems under guidance.
  • Cleaning and organizing the test cell when not in operation.
  • Assisting with assembly and other production tasks as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Clear communication of questions and findings.
  • Basic knowledge of and experience servicing internal combustion engines (diesel preferred).
  • Understanding of single-phase and three-phase AC power.
  • Experience using digital multi-meters and other electrical measurement tools.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Able to use basic computer software and learn Northern Lights workflow system.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma and minimum 1 year relevant technical training.
  • Experience with diesel generator sets.
  • Experience with marine generator sets.
  • Experience with low-voltage DC controls and wiring.
  • Experience with AC power installations.
  • Experience with parallel generator operation.

Work Environment:

The Test Cell Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this job include regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing, as well as frequent lifting and/or moving items up to 70 pounds.
