Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Testing Technician III to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing mechanical tests on materials and analyzing results to ensure the quality and safety of our spacecraft and launch vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical tests, including tensile, compression, fatigue, bend, and wear testing
  • Analyze and document test results
  • Work with engineers to develop test plans and procedures
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities
  • Safely work with hazardous systems containing chemicals, heat, high pressure, and stored energy

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience operating mechanical testing equipment
  • Basic engineering laboratory skills
  • Strong written and computer skills
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain positive relationships
  • U.S. citizenship or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with industry materials testing standards
  • Familiarity with typical aerospace testing and quality processes
  • Knowledge of materials and processes used in aerospace
  • Ability to operate manual machine tools
