Regional People Business Partner

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional People Business Partner to join our team at JD Finish Line. This individual will play a critical role in supporting the development and execution of company policies and procedures, providing coaching services on performance management, employee relations, succession and goal planning processes, leadership development and crisis management within a designated department of JD Finish Line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a business partner to the department(s) by providing HR business expertise and perspective to support the development and execution of department initiatives.
  • Provide consultation and explanation on company and governmental rules, regulations, and procedures and need for compliance to mitigate risks, to various audiences.
  • Investigate and respond to employee grievances. Analyze information gathered and recommend appropriate action up to and including termination.
  • Interview employees to determine reactions to specific actions taken. Prepare reports on relevant data collected inputs into tracking software.
  • Approve all management level actions to include performance management, progressive discipline and terminations before implemented.
  • Conduct complex investigations, direct investigations performed by others, elevate matters and/or seek advice, as needed, for input in facilitating resolution.
  • Assess talent by recognizing, coaching and providing meaningful feedback to department leaders for purposes of succession and workforce planning.
  • Guide management in the correct and consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Foster and maintain effective partnerships across the organization.
  • Assist with the communication of new policies and procedures.
  • Conduct training sessions periodically to train new leaders on company policies and procedures, as well as updates on policy and procedural issues.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or 1 – 2 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 2-4 or more years additional experience as an Human Resource Generalist or equivalent. PHR and/or SPHR certification preferred.

Technical Skills:

Basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Google platforms, Excel and Access as well as a basic understanding of functions and relationships of information in Workday / Ceridian system and ERMS software.
