The Vector System is currently utilized by numerous leading municipal and private fleets nationwide, helping them achieve near-zero carbon emissions while simultaneously lowering their fuel and operational costs.

Position Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Field Engineer to support our ambitious growth objectives by assisting fleets in minimizing their carbon footprint and meeting sustainability targets. This role will serve as a key technical representative for our Vector fuel system technology, necessitating a thorough understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software systems, as well as proficiency in the tools and diagnostics required for installation and maintenance.

This is a full-time salaried role with significant travel obligations. The successful candidate will ensure optimal system performance and communicate any necessary technical modifications to the engineering team, while also guiding the Field Operations team in effective installation and troubleshooting of any post-installation challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between engineering and field service teams, ensuring all technical documentation and customer-specific requests are accurate and current.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, responding promptly to engineering inquiries.
  • Conduct diagnostics and perform root cause analysis on malfunctioning components.
  • Develop expertise in the Vector system and its various electrical, software, and hardware components.
  • Understand specific engine and chassis specifications thoroughly.
  • Oversee that system installations adhere to customer-specific designs and models.
  • Interpret and utilize technical drawings, schematics, and manuals for installations, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Inform technical decisions based on engine and chassis specifics.
  • Conduct system testing upon project completion.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics independently.
  • Create installation and maintenance documentation for both internal and external use.
  • Maintain open communication with customers to provide troubleshooting and technical support.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through effective and reliable service.
  • Research and resolve technical issues using both internal and external resources.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy automotive engineering and diagnostics.
  • Associate's degree in engineering technology or equivalent experience.
  • Deep understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, with proven troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Ability to comprehend detailed product schematics and follow complex instructions.
  • Strong communication and computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and/or GSuite.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software.
  • Demonstrated analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Proven ability to work independently and under pressure, with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage timelines and prioritize workload effectively.
  • A commitment to quality work and customer satisfaction.

Additional Requirements

  • Frequent physical activity, including bending, climbing, and lifting up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to work in diverse environments, including office, outdoor, and workshop settings.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work with various materials and chemicals.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
  • Flexible working hours may be required.
