The Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing capabilities. This role involves overseeing significant projects from initial concept through funding approval and successful execution of automation and facility enhancements to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively engage with suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders to propose and implement best practices that enhance assembly and manufacturing techniques.
  • Influence part design with a focus on manufacturability, error-proofing, fixture design, and the integration of quality assurance measures to achieve optimal results.
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively on intricate projects.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and assess manufacturing processes for new products, design modifications, or innovative manufacturing techniques.
  • Evaluate and introduce new technologies to boost operational efficiency and manufacturing flexibility, particularly at launch sites.
  • Collaborate with leadership, operations, and engineering teams to ensure alignment of new equipment initiatives with manufacturing strategies and production plans.
  • Ensure the operability, reliability, and functional integrity of automated manufacturing systems prior to handover to operations.
  • Lead initiatives for facility expansion to support the scaling of manufacturing operations, both new and existing.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of complex automated manufacturing systems and components, including electrical and pneumatic controls, PLC and HMI devices, sensors, servo motors, vision systems, and robotics.
  • Strong understanding of processes related to the operation and maintenance of production facilities.
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering and plant operations, with a focus on automated production processes and manufacturing best practices.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
Travel Requirements
  • Travel within North America is minimal, less than 10%.
Work Environment
  • Office Environment - Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time and occasionally move around the office to access files and equipment. Close visual acuity is necessary for tasks such as data analysis and extensive reading. May require lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Manufacturing Facility - Exposure to various physical conditions, including moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and potential hazards. The work environment may include exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and loud noise levels. Safety equipment such as eye protection, hearing protection, and appropriate footwear is required. May require lifting up to 35 pounds occasionally.
